This week I'm gonna hit the apple orchard and do some fall baking! If you would like to join me, I'm thinking either Wednesday or Thursday. Leave me a comment, send me a text or e-mail and let me know if either of those days work for you.
Here's the "rules". You must provide your own apples. I will be headed to the orchard this week with a friend to pick some apples. You must also provide anything you need to bake IN. Like pie tins, 9x13 pans, etc. I have a big enough kitchen a few of us can work, but I don't have that many pots/pans/containers by any stretch of the imagination. So - I provide the kitchen and stove - you provide whatever you need to cook in! I have a crockpot too. If your making apple butter - bring your own jars. You get what I'm saying - right? I'll provide the kitchen and the yummy Yankee Candle Apple Pie smell - but the rest is up to you :) If several people sign up, I might divide up some basic supplies - like one person bring 5 pounds of sugar, one bring 5 pounds flour - etc - but lets see how many people we get. We'll either do McDonald's dollar menu for lunch, order a pizza or just maybe I'll make some soup of something. Again, lets see if anyone actually wants to do this and then I can figure that out later.
At this point - this is an "idea" not an actuality. So - unless you hear back from me saying this is a GO - don't clear your calendars for it! I have yet to actually look at the calendar :) I just thought it would be FUN and if there is an interest - we'll make it happen.
Okay - onto the subject of the post - APPLES!
Here's what's on my baking list:
Apple Strudel Muffins
Applesauce
Caramel Apple Pie
Apple Butter
Apple Crisp
Apples w/ sugar (looking for a recipe - something for like biscuits or something - thinking on this one)
Recipes to come later. FIRST - I want all of YOU to share your favorite apple recipe with me so I can steal it and add it to my list :) Then I will share with you all of these yummy recipes and we can make some great fall treats TOGETHER :)
Can't wait to hear from you!!
